Revision is a High Court's power to examine the record of a subordinate court to correct a jurisdictional error or illegality when no appeal is available.
What does Revision mean in plain words?
A revision petition is not a re-hearing of the facts. The High Court only checks whether the lower court acted without jurisdiction, wrongly refused to use its jurisdiction, or acted illegally. It exists for civil and criminal matters.
When will I hear Revision?
A civil revision was filed in the Lahore High Court against the order of the Civil Judge.
