An intra-court appeal is an appeal from the order of a single High Court judge to a bench of two or more judges of the same High Court.
What does Intra-court appeal mean in plain words?
An appeal lies to a bench of two or more judges from a decree or final order of a single judge in the High Court's original civil jurisdiction, and from certain single-judge orders under Article 199 (writ petitions). It is not available against interlocutory orders, and a writ order cannot be appealed this way if the law already gave at least one appeal, revision or review against the original order.
