Islamic law

Hudood are offences with fixed (hadd) punishments in Islamic law that Pakistan's 1979 Hudood Ordinances deal with: zina, qazf, theft and haraabah, and drinking.

What does Hudood mean in plain words?

The four Hudood laws date from 1979. Act VI of 2006 amended them: zina-bil-jabr was omitted from the Zina Ordinance, and rape is now defined in section 375 of the Penal Code. Offences punishable with hadd are tried by a Court of Session, and appeals from its orders lie to the Federal Shariat Court. Hadd punishments need particular kinds of proof.

When will I hear Hudood?

The appeal from the Court of Session in the zina case lay to the Federal Shariat Court.
