Custody and guardianship is the legal question of who keeps a child and who has the authority to make decisions for the child, decided by the court in the child's best interest.
What does Custody and guardianship mean in plain words?
The court's main test is the welfare of the minor. In appointing or declaring a guardian it considers the minor's age, sex and religion, the character and capacity of the proposed guardian, and the minor's own preference if he is old enough. If a ward is removed from the guardian's custody, the court can order his return where that is for his welfare. Family courts decide custody, guardianship and the visitation rights of parents.
When will I hear Custody and guardianship?
The mother filed for custody and the court granted visitation to the father every Sunday.

Sections 7, 17 and 25, Guardians and Wards Act 1890; Schedule Part I items 5 and 6, West Pakistan Family Courts Act 1964
