Talaq is the husband's pronouncement ending the marriage; he must give written notice to the Chairman of the Union Council, and it takes effect only after ninety days from that notice.
What does Talaq mean in plain words?
A husband who pronounces talaq must, as soon as may be, give the Chairman written notice and supply a copy to the wife. Within thirty days the Chairman forms an Arbitration Council to try to bring about reconciliation. Unless revoked earlier, the talaq is not effective until ninety days after the notice reaches the Chairman, or until the pregnancy ends if the wife is pregnant, whichever is later. Failing to give notice is punishable, and special rules apply to Fiqah-e-Jafria.
When will I hear Talaq?
After giving talaq he sent a notice to the Union Council and a copy to his wife.
Which law covers Talaq?
Section 7, Muslim Family Laws Ordinance 1961
