District & Sessions Courts (Islamabad)
ڈسٹرکٹ اینڈ سیشن کورٹس (اسلام آباد)
The main court of each district (sessions division). The Sessions Judge can pass any sentence the law allows (a death sentence must be confirmed by the High Court) and hears appeals against convictions by judicial magistrates. In civil cases the District Judge hears appeals from all decrees and orders of civil judges, whatever the amount. Appeals against criminal convictions by the Sessions Judge go to the High Court.
