Res judicata

امرِ مقضی

Court procedure

Res judicata is the rule that a matter already finally decided by a competent court cannot be tried again between the same parties.

What does Res judicata mean in plain words?

It stops people from re-filing the same dispute after losing. If your earlier suit on the same issue was decided on merits, a later suit between the same people on that issue will usually be dismissed.

When will I hear Res judicata?

The court held that the second suit was barred by res judicata.

Which law covers Res judicata?
