Adjournment is a court's postponement of a hearing to a later date.
What does Adjournment mean in plain words?
In a civil suit the court may, if sufficient cause is shown, grant time to the parties and adjourn the hearing, fixing a day for the next hearing and possibly ordering costs. Once evidence has begun, the hearing is to continue from day to day unless the court records reasons.
When will I hear Adjournment?
The court adjourned the case to the next month on the request of the defendant's counsel.
